As we quietly prepare for the next phase in life in the event industry I keep wanting to highlight folks we love. Folks that will journey with you in real life and virtually as the new normal evolves to ensure your event will still convey your vision and create community and be ragingly successful.
You know what can make or break your fundraising gala or event? A lack of direction and movement. All dressed up… and then what? In addition to having your planner, it is SO smart to have and professional emcee on deck. It’s even better if they’re versatile and can pull the auctioneer role, can step into wedding officiant role, manage event transitions or just even consult on your event flow. Today, we’re highlighting a Seattle’s very own event wonder woman: Sasha from Revel Rouser. We just love her, she adds so much value and flair with everything she engages with. With decades of experience on stage as an actress and cabaret performer combined with a 15-year work history in the non-profit sector have come together in perfect alignment one of the most skilled and joyful fundraising auctioneers you could possibly meet – AND she both travels in person and at you on the web.
I checked in with Sasha to see what she was up to – we got to work an event with her and an epic team of vendors that share many of the same values just days before the Event Industry was impacted by social distancing. I was thrilled to feel her positivity, and know her creative juices were flowing on how to best show up for her clients : current and prospective.
She shared this: My favorite professional learning lesson (so far) during the COVID social distancing experience has been the fact that so much of what I do at in-person events can be pivoted beautifully and meaningfully to an online event. Virtual galas and online auctions are totally viable! My clients love that I am engaged in their work/mission, effective at planning and fundraising, and I am entertaining on stage. All of that is useful for online events as well. And here’s proof!
The next thing that I got super stoked about, because we’re into telling love stories – and know that there’s a shift in how people get married. It’s actually our jam – sweet and intimate community based celebration. SO – to know that Sasha is excited to grow in the coming years as a wedding officiating. She said, (and we 1000000% agree!) : ” I LOVE IT! I love LOVE❤ As an officiant I work closely with the betrothed couple to write the story of their unique history together, their love story, their values as a couple, and their hopes and dreams for the future. I am proud to say that at each wedding I’ve officiated to date, I have succeeded in making their guests both laugh and cry…tears of joy, of course.” Um, yes please as I wipe a nostalgic tear from my face remembering the weddings and vows and stories that officiants have supported couples through.
