Way back when, we eluded to the anticipated epicness of Amanda + Reed’s wedding on Vashon Island during their engagement session. I don’t want to be smug on our blog, but . . . I was right. It was legit. This day was magical. If the characteristics of kindness, loyalty, generosity , compassion and all the qualities Amanda + Reed cherish in one another were able to be portrayed in a wedding, this would be it.
Imagine this: crystal clear blue skies, cool breeze on a sunny July day hanging out on a cliff overlooking the Puget Sound with Mount Rainier out in all her glory. What phenomenal venue is this at you may ask? Vashon Field & Pond. Forty acres of secluded field and forest homing Alder and Madrones, wildlife, private beach, and more. It was the perfect backdrop for celebration and total joy within an expanding community gathering together to celebrate Amanda + Reed with boxes upon boxes of champagne toasting in the name of love. The scene is set, isn’t it?
It was also meticulously planned and coordinated by Amanda + Reed and their team of people. Not only was the venue gorgeous but the players within this magical and expansive venue were tried and true. More on that later… but first, back to the boxes of champagne. Those boxes, er, bottles were consumed in the bluff house and loft of Field and Pond. . . with sweeping views of the sound and exactly where everyone wanted to be. A room full of girls having their hair and make-up done on site in the Loft and the rest of the Haggerty family preparing for their roles in the Bluff House. Light shining in, laughter, toasts being written, finalized, programs being trimmed, everyone doing their thing to make sure each last details was delivered well with love. Meanwhile, Reed and his wedding party were in the Wildwood Barn and Studio hitting some balls, drinking some whiskey, and making sure all their ties were knotted properly, because, of course.
I could go on and on – about their emotional first look in the forest, Amanda riding up on her “something blue” Vintage Harley Davison delivered from SoCal by her dad, the shots of Jameson shared after the ceremony, the toasts that created both rivers of tears and thunders of laughter of Amanda being accepted into the Haggerty wolf pack or the fabulous choreographed first dance by Diplo.
I regress. The people that helped this vision come to fruition, the vendors of this magical Haggerty – Austin wedding: Sammy Yuen, an Event Assistant by day with DSquared and a freelance planner by weekend rocked out the logistics and details like no one else business. Dinner was catered by Tuxedos + Tennis Shoes – a gourmet dinner customized by the couple and implemented seamlessly plated for 300 people in the largest tent to grace CORT’s inventory. It was perfection. Integral DJ set the tone for the dinner, the toasts, and then the dance party that wouln’t have stopped if not for the Island’s noise ordinance. The dress, whoah- that dress, sourced at The Dress Theory, designed by Rue de Seine. The floral arrangements and design was provided by Althauser Designs – they were gorgeous and adored by the guests. It was perfect.
When we previewed their imagery just two weeks later, Reed has shared that Amanda said the next morning that she was 98% certain there would not be another party in her lifetime that would top this one. That absolutely gives us the opportunity to fulfill a 2% chance… may the odds forever be in our favor, right? . . . . and keep scrolling, there’s a link to video at the end!
