Witnessing the love of a family before a major milestone in their child’s life is a tender thing. To be invited into a sacred space with a family celebrating, is when we feel honored to be included. Meet the Weise family – and their son B – the youngest son – was a reason to celebrate and brought family from coast to coast for this mitzvah. Starting at Temple Beth Am, readying themselves and the space for his ceremony and welcoming immediate family for photos. We are grateful for the kindness and community of the temple for welcoming us.
Proud mama Weise, ensuring there loves were all perfectly put together. Their ties tied and aligned, the accessories ready for documentation … from the incredible gold dragon ear cuff to the handmade Tallis (made by David’s sweet mother). The kindness and adoration of one another amongst this family was palatable.
Witnessing the sibling relationship between the brothers and the reverence of this milestone was precious. The sharing of life experience as a family was sweet and we are so grateful that we were able to encapsulate these moments for the family. The Rabbi arrived, with a calming spirit to support the B in his preparations and rehearsal of the Torah, and then the extended family arrived for some portraits with the celebrated B.
The cousins, aunts, uncles and grands gathering at the Temple was absolutely the start of the day’s long celebration. We reconvened at the recently re-opened Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture in Seattle – a fabulous museum and event space that will provide a wow factor for your celebration and comes with incredible pre-historic decor.
The space begged to be explored with designated spaces for kids to play board games, while the adults were able to reconnect, share stories and prepare the space for the impending music, dancing and horah. The central theme to this celebration aside from B coming of age, was to reconnect family, friends from near and far. They celebrated, laughed, loved and ate delicious food catered by Tuxedos + Tennis Shoes /D-Squared Company . Weise Family, thank you for including us in your magnificent, beautiful, and heartfelt celebration. Your family is truly lovely.
