Whilst we were in Nepal we were honored to be contracted to do some work for a company that has a mission with heart. My Sister, Inc. is a Minneapolis based company that will be launching their product line soon, selling t-shirts that benefit the movement of halting human trafficking in both the US and Nepal. In exchange for our time and efforts, My Sister made a donation in our name to one of our favorite NGO’s in Nepal – Volunteer Services in Nepal (VSN).
This is the first of many donations from Diwas Photography. We will donate a percentage of all sales annually to projects that lend themselves to empowering and educating marginalized youth in Nepal. We are so thankful to have been given the opportunity to work with My Sister, Inc. in their early stages of development.
VSN established this home nearly 11 years ago as an intervention of human trafficking while I was serving in an orphanage where the children were being cycled through. It was horrific, and then inspiring to be a part of the founding and development of Brighter Future Children’s Home. Eleven years later, the children have grown up so much…there are still some littles, several are in college, some are married and now have families of their own. The donation from DIWAS Photography and My Sister will support the children’s continued education.
Below are some photos of our time at Brighter Futures Children’s Home. The home’s running costs are about $22,000/year and currently have a budget to last the next 6 months. If you wish to contribute to the mission of VSN, you can book a session with Diwas Photography or contact Kate directly.
