We had the distinct pleasure of being able to photograph the power couple Summit and Kristina for their US based Hindu infused Nepali wedding in Tampa and Clearwater, FL. It could not have been more beautiful. Their wedding celebration spanned over three days to include the Sangit: the evening before the festivities which include song, dance, henna and celebration as a family. The second day included traditional Thakali dress and a Junti Ceremony, which is essentially a parade with song and dance to deliver the bride to the groom’s home. The third and final day was the reception taken place at Kapok Special Event Venue and Gardens and each day surpassed the greatness of the last.
Their wedding celebration is representative of their love story, beginning with their courtship via phone and FaceTime three years ago. The celebration is representative of their life as it spanned from the England to the USA with much travel in between to foster relationships, including trips within the UK, India, Nepal and beyond. Each travel experience included mindful practices to prepare for the wedding celebrations, organize details and get to know one another’s family. As their courtship evolved into engagement and eventual wedding, the family ties strengthened with love, respect and appreciation.
What we loved most of this wedding was the color, vibrance and tradition infused with every element of their celebration. From the elegant attire inspired by deep cultural roots in Nepal, to the fun and stunning Bollywood Bridal dresses, accessories and gold to gush over for days. Pair this beauty and fanfare with the love of the sisters and brothers of Summit and Kristina to pull off each and every phase of their wedding, and wow.
