After looking at their portfolio and realizing their style matched up with our aesthetic and vision for our wedding photographs, we began our relationship with Sadie and Diwas.

Over the course of the next 6-ish months, they both took a lot of time to get to know Rodney and myself, how we met, about our family, friends and of course, our upcoming wedding. The treatment we received from DIWAS far exceeded our expectations. Beyond that, their attention to detail on our wedding day, the way they themselves seamlessly into our day and their keen creative eye was amazing.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience with DIWAS for our wedding day photos, but in the process, we also made 2 amazing friends!

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]We were overdue to get family photos. The last time was a horrible experience at the mall. We happen to have mutual friends who had mentioned Sadie and Diwas so I thought I’d check them out. Sadie described their style as storytelling rather than just poses. I was a little hesitant as I didn’t know what ‘story’ our family would tell. I was also a little concerned on whether our 6-year-old would cooperate. I shouldn’t have worried. Sadie and Diwas arrived at our house and instantly engaged our son. He was excitedly running around the house showing Diwas everything, and his excitement shows in the photos. We proceeded to the beach for additional photos, and my son was off running down the beach on the driftwood. Diwas almost couldn’t stay in front of him to take photos. Loved the whole experience (and while I love to document everything in photos, I hate being in them). Diwas and Sadie were also such lovely hosts for our preview session. It was a bit long for our 6-year-old (mostly because I am picky). However, that night when we were going to bed, he asked ‘when are we going to do more photos with Diwas and Sadie?’ Thank you so much, Sadie and Diwas! All of the photos were great, the album tells such a nice story, and we had a wonderful experience!

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]My Wife’s boss at the time referred us to Diwas Photography in the early stages of planning our upcoming wedding. We made contact, and planned a meet up in west seattle. They were already there with us, and we immediately took to them. We were seeking photographers who had an eye for more than just a “wedding shot” and we reviewed their work on their website and were taken by the travel photos we saw. We also wanted photographers we would want to have a beer with if we were stuck in an airport for a layover. Sadie and Diwas were 100% those people, and we chose them on the spot after talking with them about our adventures, travels, and theirs.

Throughout the wedding planning process, Diwas Photography was there to either listen to us grieve over lost venues or flaky vendors, and offered their support emotionally and advice and connections to us as well. This was wonderful and was so appreciated, but they really came through the day of. Both photographers were so amazing on our wedding day, taking time to set up shots, but also stepping back and getting the real essence of who we are and what our day was about.

After the wedding we saw the finished product, they were amazing. The presentation was incredible, every detail thought out to the smallest point.

I cannot recommend Diwas Photography enough; they are amazing people who shoot amazing photos and clearly love what they do.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]We are incredibly pleased with the choice of Diwas Photography for our wedding. It was not that tough of a selection for us, even though the market is saturated. We had picked out our venue and found Diwas and Sadie through the venue’s Facebook page. We then navigated directly to their site and looked through their entire blog and images. We gravitated toward the black and white images as our wedding theme trended around a classic elegance. The first time we got to meet Diwas and Sadie was at the One Love Seattle wedding event. They were personable and unlike what we felt off of others, not pushy at all. We just genuinely connected with them on a personable level.

It wasn’t long until we had our deposit down and were going through the process of lining up our day with their expertise. We got to see their collections, examples of work they had done in the tangible form and they took diligent notes about our story. It impressed me that on every stage of our planning, little specifics (of us as a couple) was retained. Our communication with them was direct, clear and well heard. Timing is of the essence in wedding planning and they have the experience to innately know the flow.

The day of they were there before we were, calmed our nerves, made us laugh and just made us feel comfortable. They were everywhere, at every moment. They pardoned our familial hazards, were a buffer and kept a focus on us instead of everyone else. One of our favorite compliments out of many, which describes the day of, is that a guest told us Diwas was a “fox” maneuvering around to be right on top of every single key moment. This may very well be our most solid point of why we recommend them.

The viewing session blew our minds. After the wedding, emotions had all started to calm down and subside, yet the images brought everything back around. I didn’t think I would cry (again) but I got broken down so far to the point I was almost sobbing with how beautiful everything turned out. We got to see so much of the details we were too busy to catch. The slideshow, the products, the attention to detail, the kindness and the ease of working with these two are all just the surface of it. There was so much depth to our experience with them that a review wouldn’t even begin to be enough of our gratitude.

They were responsive via email, flexible with scheduling, and generally easy-going, all desirable attributes for retaining sanity while coordinating a wedding. They were also excellent photographers. We especially liked how, during the ceremony, Diwas focused on the listener instead of the speaker. He captured some once-in-a-lifetime reaction shots that we loved. Sadie’s alternate angle shots throughout the event were great to have.

What’s more, Diwas promised our pictures back in less than two weeks! No other photographer promised such a fast turnaround, so we were skeptical, but he made it with time to spare. We were very impressed with the quality of the pictures and the presentation (we got a cute keepsake bamboo box for a bamboo-wrapped USB stick).

One engaged couple who came to the wedding said they were so impressed they wanted to fire their photographer and hire Diwas instead. We had a great experience with Sadie and Diwas and would definitely hire them again.”

Personable, unobtrusive, and just all around easy to work with, these two actually cared about the feeling and vision of the entire experience. If you want standard, cheesy, and uninteresting posed shots, look elsewhere. These two are artists, sensitive to their surroundings and the people they’re working with. They delivered quickly, missed no detail, and presented us with hundreds of incredible shots. Best of all, they have integrity. So many wedding photographers take advantage, and charge prices far beyond what’s reasonable. It’s easy to feel exploited shopping the wedding industry. Sadie and Diwas did the opposite. Worked within our budget, were enthusiastic about the experience, and delivered extraordinary art to us for less than what other, less competent photographers were charging for the mundane. If you’re looking for extraordinary skill and genuine art without mortgaging your house, I’ll save you hours of searching. Gallery quality without sending us to the poorhouse. I genuinely love these two. By the end of the evening, they felt like family. I predict a brilliant future for them. 5 stars, two thumbs up, A+, an 11 on a scale of 1-10, and a happy heart.”

He told us very early on that he would tell the story of the day and Diwas truly did that! We were very excited to see the pictures and were more than pleased with the final shots. Diwas was able to capture the excitement as well as the intimate moments. He was very easy to work with and has a great eye for shots. It is awesome being able to relive the special moments that took place.

Instead of giving each other traditional rings, we decided to get tattoos. Diwas asked if he could come to the tattoo shop and capture the inking of our ring fingers. It was such a great idea and we are glad he thought of it as having these memories included make it extra special.
