Tis the season to gather safely and introduce the newbs to the family, if one may be so lucky.
We are so happy to be back at it, photographing folks with their beloveds, gathering safely… celebrating the connections many of us craved during the shut-downs. To nestle into family, set aside the calculus of protocols, and just play together really hit the spot.
When we do family sessions, we continue to roll with the flow of our clients. Meeting them where they’re at – especially given things are a little bit weirder than they once were, super especially if they have young children. It’s all just a lot… so we show up easy. We integrate slowly. We focus on the littles and listen intently to learn about who they are and what they are really excited about in this particular moment… and we start by documenting that. Whether it be bubbles, cupcakes, swings, dirt or trucks… whatever floats your family’s boat, we are here to capture the love, the energy and the moment – because we know as parents all too well, these days and stages will not last forever.
In this session, we met with the family to photograph their new babe… the sister becoming a big sibling, and the grandparents being introduced to the whole family. It was light hearted, full of laughter and lots of ease. Spending time outside with the family was refreshing. Witnessing the play, the respect, the hugs and the pure love that existed between the littles and their bigs was something that took us next level after the Covid pause.
We’re so here for it if you’re ready to gather and connect – whether it’s pictures as usual in your home (masked by us, tested by us, too!) we are so down for it. There is nothing cuter than little folks thinking they are big and owning the streets/sidewalks, and watching the grands simply marvel over the capacity to not retain content as well as seek adventure. From the in-home introduction we’re happy to travel with you to the next destination that makes sense for your family : a park, a brewery, a playground or a garden… we’ll help you plan after a chat if you’re looking for something more.
We’re currently running a promotion for our Family Sessions. Half of your session fee will be dedicated to social change – our interests are environmental education, diversity/equity/inclusion and urban youth arts.
